So for those returning to play and for those who haven't played before, make sure you indicate your intention to play here: survivordreamteam.proboards.com/post/5179/threadI'm not gonna have a heap of time to set things up, so if you have an avatar already, it may take some time for me to get to it if you want any changes. As far as the format goes, there will be some tweaks I'm considering this season. - Vice-captain selection - How this ultimately works is yet to be finalised, but the idea would be that if your captain scores 0 or less, your vice-captain's score is doubled instead. This would eliminate the somewhat sinister issue of a negative captain's score being doubled. It would also mean if someone forgets to change their captain after they were voted out, it won't be massively costly for them and thus they'll be encouraged to keep being involved. - A Reserve player - I am considering introducing allowing a seventh tribe member for all tribes. This would mean your best 6 score each week. This may be only used pre-merge while everyone is getting a feel for the players. - Buying trades - Not sure how this will exactly work, but the idea would be to allow people to buy trades. They would likely be expensive to acquire. The Back-from-the-Dead trade will return. The halving of Episode 1 scores will likely be abolished, especially if the Reserve player is introduced. Scoring will likely remain the same as last season (I need to update tied vote scoring, however). Any feedback is welcome.

All good ideas Here's my opinion on each: - The vice-captain tweak seems slightly too generous. Instead you could make a rule that the lowest score for a captain is 0. - I'm indifferent to the reserve player idea. - I really like the idea of being able to buy trades. It adds another dynamic to the game and rewards players that accumulate money through smart trading.

yeh, buying trades is a good addition. not sure if having tribes of 7 premerge is too many? maybe sticking with 6 as 5+1 reserve could work? I don't know

We get $16 for 7 people? That's only just over $2 each. I guarantee everyone has at least three of the $1 people and not many people will go for the $5 people.

Maybe let players choose? "Up to 7 players" might be an interesting twist?
But yeah... either increase the money or decrease the players.

I have no problem with the money or player prices. There's a fair enough balance between cash and pricings. My only thing was that everyone's teams will probably be very similar at the merge.
But I don't know now- I've drafted up a rough team and found there's plenty of different options after I gave it some thought. It's actually working pretty well. I take back my suggestion Up to 7 is an interesting thing- haven't thought through the possibilities properly, but yeh- it could work

that's the thing though. the prices aren't balanced. As Duck said, there's a near 0 chance that anybody will pick a 5, without also having a majority of the 1's and 2's.

Yeah I'd rather we didn't have to pick 7 players now after looking at the prices and how much money we have

6 players @ 15 was 2.5 each person
7 players @ 16 is a touch over 2 per person.
An extra person should give us freedom to pick more players, not less.

If we had 7 players with $18 or $19, things get interesting.

Yep, I echo the sentiments here. If you want one of the 5's you're pretty much forced to choose from the 2's and 1's.

The blue collar guys being so expensive makes things extra difficult. I don't like the blue collar women (esp. the disgusting Lindsey) but it looks like I'll be forced to select them

You have $15 to pick 6 players normally. $1 extra to pick one more. Up to you how you balance it out. Why would you get more to get one of the more higher priced players? O.o
I'll consider raising it to $17 if there's no objection to it.

But with $15 for 6, people will still be picking $1 players. It's not like putting in $1 for 1 player means they have to pick up a $1 player.

O.o I'll consider raising it to $17 if there's no objection to it. Yeah that's a good point. Not sure why I'm finding it more difficult this season to select a team under the limit. Maybe it's because we would usually select the $1 players anyway when building a 6 player team and so when we're forced to select an extra player there isn't much left to choose from. Or maybe it's just because my favourites this season are more expensive.
