Nah. Not even really an NBA fan. Just my teen years were spent in the 90s, when NBA was huge here in Australia.

I used to like the NBA but it kind of went down hill over the last few years. Funny story though, one of my friends on facebook used to be a LA Laker cheerleader!

yeh, nba and even the nbl were pretty popular back in the day, nowadays it's nothing like it used to be.
as for the episode, that was the most exciting, shocking episode I have probably ever seen !!!!!!!!!!! for Jtia to Brandon Hantz it then not get voted out, Garrett's tribal gaffs, leaving the idol just lying on the beach !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What even is that. new plan for the brains, don't tell Jtia you're going to vote for her as two for two in escaping

Also, my prediction as to Sarah was correct. She's easily my favourite !!!

Oh geez, my errant captaincy selection is a curse'!!!!!!! Every time I can remember over the history of dream team I have made the wrong choice. I should have placed much better than 20th, but captaincy cost me. No matter what I try to do, it just doesn't work. Even David would have made a better scoring captain and he not only missed an episode but lost the challenge as well as voting wrongly and getting blindsided.
I think the good thing though is that most of my team did actually score pretty well and so I have a few good captaincy options for next time as it seems like Cliff isn't going to be a competitive scorer.

Just going through the scores and I can see that you've had your work cut out for you in calculating them. There are so many different categories which must take ages to sort through. You literally have scoring for everything except for getting voted out! Thanks for putting so much time into this Your efforts aren't going unnoticed.

I'm making a captain change this episode to Sarah as she seems to be one of the best players this season as well as being a triple threat and a good confessionaller.
I want to make a trade also, but it's just hard to know who to trade out and who to aim for. 3 tribe format seems to favour a greater minority in terms of air time more than a usual 2 tribe set up. Morgan seems like an obvious trade in to make as a smart player with an idol clue who is also insanely attractive, but I think so much depends on who loses immunity based off Garrett, Spencer and Jtia all scoring highly from week 1. I'm happy to carry LJ while he's scoring low for the moment, but if Cliff keeps up his bad scoring I'll be looking to trade him out soon
Also, just a thought for probably next season or possibly (ideally) this season given that last week had no Head to Head matches- it may be an idea to make like -25 points or something for getting voted out. Last season we had negatives for losing the duel and so without RI and with new opportunities for scoring the game seems a bit off balance into favouring the voted out person each week. I just think like the scoring shouldn't really reward people who have their players voted out seeing as that's the aim of what not to do in the game.

Captain updated.
I hear what you're saying. I removed the penalty for being voted out this season but having added the tribal council scoring, it may favour those getting voted out. I think we'll have to see how it plays out. I'm sure we'll see some players with low scores when they're voted out. I think David, Garrett (and J'Tia for that matter) were very much early focuses because they were going first episode. I'm not sure how much we'll see of others when they're voted out.

I think I'll just sit for this round and not make a trade. Morgan would have scored higher based off being selected as the weakest and taking the clue, so this week she should come back to the pack a bit, allowing me to pick her up cheaper - unless she finds the idol. That was probably a big reason Garrett scored so high early. This also would explain why the likes of Cliff scored subpar.
After this week I should be in a position to make a trade each week until the merge which is good and means that I'll be carrying no dead weight or low scorers into the merge. Depending on how in control Tash is, I expect either Spencer or JTia to be voted off next. JTia is the most obvious goat I've ever seen play the game and I'm sure Tash sees it too. It will come down to whether Kass wants to split it 2-2 or not. Unless the unthinkable happens and brains win immunity !!!!!! Just a general comment, but imagine how crazy things will get if JTia finds Garretts idol back at camp. That would be insane.
I better improve on 20th spot this week as I'd like to get a win to start off the premiership season

I really enjoyed the episode, especially as beauty went to tribal. Which means that we are less likely to see the dissolve of a tribe. It would be great if they merged while 3 tribes are still in play, even if it takes an early merge at 12 or 13. I can see Sarah being scorned by Tony after the blue blood alliance pact. She will probably overhear something or find out the kind of game he's playing and then be out for revenge down the track. As for dream team, I am glad to take the points especially as the dream killers scored the highest for any losing team. My preseason favourites Sarah and LJ were stars which carried me to a win despite Cliff again scoring poorly. What was interesting on the ladder was teams 13 to 7 all scored highly and all significantly improved position.
In terms of trades, I'm thinking maintaining a 2-2-2 formation is best so I get more coverage. I'm thinking Woo for Cliff at the moment as every point counts and I'd like to take advantage of Woo's greater scoring so far and higher chance to make the end game. I'm still thinking though.

What's the situation with the transition from trades premerge to post merge? Can I keep my premerge trades and add them to my post merge ones or are they wiped again?

You keep all remaining pre-merges. You get 1 bonus trade at the merge. That's it.

Oh, that's actually excellent! I can see the balance in the game now- by having people getting voted out you waste extremely valuable trades which get progressively more valuable each round. I aim to conserve my trades again and use them only to ensure that I have a maximum number of active players each round, while backing my pregame selections along the way. From the surface, it appears that of my team that only Cliff is in a bit of danger this week- due to Tony having an idol and targeting him, but for that to happen the Brawn would need to lose a challenge which is unlikely. The only other way I envisage one of my team getting voted out is for Brain to lose and Latasha/JTia don't vote together- which also seems unlikely.
Sorry for my earlier suggestion about modifying the game- I didn't properly research how you've thought the situation out. Anyone who uses more than 2 trades premerge is really going to struggle near the endgame. Hopefully I can do a Steven Bradbury and chase them down at the end !!!

No apologies necessary. I encourage any and all feedback. I want this game to get better and a lot of it is very much experimental but based on my knowledge of Survivor and fantasy football. I actually had thought of this a few seasons before I decided to run it... just never felt I was ready to run it (and didn't want to give away the idea, lol).
