if u changed the rules to b the way u r describing then ensuring that u possess all people who have idols on ur team will become even more of a priority than it already was. in a game where there r 3 or 4 idols in play that kinda stagnates gameplay. That's a fair point. I don't know, I'm just spitballing ideas.

Yes times a thousand to your first point. Your first point is interesting and idrk where I'd land. Since votes are a nice even 4 points now, maybe it's worth considering making votes nullified by an idol count off 2 points per vote? It's kinda the perfect compromise since it still penalizes the player for getting votes, but acknowledges that the votes didn't ultimately count. I don't feel strongly about it but I think it's a decent change if we wanted. Well here's my reasoning for the second suggestion: for one thing, the point deduction is for votes cast against a contestant and technically when they've been cancelled by an idol they aren't actually cast against them anymore. Votes with idol plays typically don't maintain the vote count of the cancelled votes, so Zeke'a boot would be considered a 5-0 vote, rather than 5-4. Also, penalizing someone for getting votes in an idol play, particularly when someone correctly plays one on themself, takes away from the idol play bonus and kind of neutralizes the whole thing. As an example, in Cambodia Kelley received 9/12 votes but played her idol. So in that situation she only received 14/50 of the points that idol play earned her. I know this isn't the suggestion thread but just to pop in with my opinion. What if voided votes count as half of the points of getting votes against, as taterman suggested, and credit is given for each vote voided for the person who used the idol (in addition to the +50 if they play it correctly (equal to or the majority of votes))? So as an example in this episode, Hannah would only have -8 for having 4 votes against instead of -16 and Adam would earn +8 for voiding 4 votes. Hannah got votes against her so they should hurt a little bit, but since they were voided they don't hurt as much. And Adam receives some credit for voiding votes even though it wasn't enough to earn that +50. Or, using the Cambodia example, Kelley got 9 votes against so she would get -36 points (-4 per vote) for that. Because she played her idol and voided those votes, the hit against her is halved down to -18 (-2 per vote) and her being the one to play the idol gave her +18 points (2 per vote voided), so the idol effectively canceled votes against Kelley, in addition to the +50 for playing the idol correctly. So basically the idol would give back the points penalized for those votes against, split evenly between the person who played the idol and the person who received the votes. And when someone plays the idol on themselves, the idol play bonus and votes against penalty cancel out.

Oh hey, these prices aren't right. I started with the first half of last episode or something. No trades until team scores are up and I fix that up.

For the idols I was thinking more Adam getting points than Hannah. Something like 6 points for each vote nulled, would have given him +24 last night rather than nothing. This would be in place of the +50 for a successful play. Play it at merge in a 12-1 vote and you could max out at +72. Or holding onto it till F5 makes it worth less. maybe you get some small bump each week for holding onto an idol consecutively unplayed but that's a pain to tally. idk, it's a discussion for post-season rather than now.
As for the Jay thing, I had a solid reasoning when I wrote that but it escapes me. I will tally teams tomorrow and see if I remember then.

Okay OP updated there with the right trade prices and the Meat Market is open for business. Jay's thing with inheriting the advantage I'm going to leave on. It's not really the same as passing an idol to an ally to play which is the spirit of that little caveat, this was an unforseen blip passing the advantage across alliance lines so it's gotta be worth something. Team scores coming up!
Before you dive into trading, note that CBS released their schedule until Season end now, and there are only two episodes left.

Jay didn't inherit the advantage lol. I mean if you want to give out the bonus points obviously that's your choice but please quit saying it ia inheriting like the legacy advantage. The whole point of inheriting is it comes after the other player is gone and that didn't happen here. Not an inheritance.

Oh yeah he was given it. I'm just using that term because it is the closest thing in the rules it equates to.
