Not too bad at this stage. I'm not in the top few, but I'm going on steadily and am definitely not worried by dropping out of the top 10. Losing Lindsey in the first ep cost me maybe 35 points- luckily Rod, my captain didn't leave in the first ep, or I'd be even worse off. I don't expect the strong tribe to lose next week, so despite having a worse chance at getting challenge bonuses, the points per player are higher on the weaker tribe. Plus there's a higher chance at getting more confessionals if they do lose. Trading in Sierra proved smart last time, and I'm starting to think that when Lindsey said that a blue will win, that it is actually going to happen as if it didn't they probably wouldn't have included it in the show otherwise. Mike's probably the frontrunner on that front, but Kelly isn't a bad choice either. She's affordable and I wouldn't need to start draining my bank already. So trade OUT Lindsey, trade IN Kelly. Worst case scenario is that her price drops to 1 and then I'll need to use some cash. If that happens, it would be smartest to just change my approach and upgrade to a 4 dollar strong player. Ideally though, someone on my tribe's value sky rockets next week and then I cash in and make bank. I still am chasing a bonus BFTD trade and long term success. Premerge is always going to be rough when I'm playing with a self imposed disadvantage, but once I get $6 spare change, I'm going to be playing with an advantage and playing hard. I wouldn't mind trading out Jenn, Hali, Sierra, Joaq or Kelly

Surely, surely Jenn's high scoring will die off soon. I'm not changing captain to her as I really think she's going to flame out soon- twice as bright, but half as long as they say. Now that she's got an idol, if she got voted out, it would mean points loss on mass. When I changed my captain frequently back in season 1, it cost me big time. This time, I'm just going to stay solid with one plan- not changing the field ball chasing. Also, just for the fun of it, I'll make Joaq my new vc so that potentially the funniest bromance ever can REIGN SUPREME over my team, mwahaha. The only thing that could make this bromance more ultimate is a hidden immunity idol find. This is going to be fun

mwahaha I know this game. Not changing captain to Jenn this episode earned me a tidy 12 points. ok, so losing Joaq hurts my plan a bit, as I would've probably made a couple of trades this week anyway through lost points, but I'm not too bad off. nothing official here, but I'm thinking maybe trading Joaq for Dan- earning one cordoba. then cashing in Jenn potentially to make up the difference for an additional BFTD trade. either that, or I just delay for a week and make up the cash with the player drop. thinking as I go here, but if I trade in for Dan now, that boosts me up to $4, then immediately cutting him next week puts me up to 5 cordobas in a worst case scenario that he does nothing, in which case I would still have the option to make up a cordoba or 2 by trading Jenn. He could easily come up with a few confessionals (an after tribal one explaining the vote especially, a Dan explains how smart he is, throw in a potential # here or there, tribal talking and you never know how he'll perform in the challenge- he could easily do enough to rise to 2 cordobas.
I might undo this later after I've thought a bit about it, but for now TRADE OUT Joaq TRADE IN Dan
The curse of my vc strikes again!!! I'm keeping BAWSTON ROD as my captain as I expect some fireworks, East Coast style. So I'll just make Jenn my vc

If I can have a good week next week, I'll be on the up and up. If I get 2 BFTDs, I should become a contender- that sets me up in a spot. The post merge means everything to winning this comp, premerge is all about setting yourself up to be in the best spot when the merge comes around. What I don't want this round is to have Dan voted out- I need him to stay in the game due to the cut in tribe numbers. In episode 8 I can afford to lose someone, as I expect jury to start then and for the merge vote out to miss the jury.
This merge is interesting. Joe seems to be the universal obvious threat. Nobody really gave a second thought to saying that they can't afford to let him go deep last week. A clear physical threat, a likeable, smart guy, he really shouldn't be allowed to go too deep. But it will take a bit of work. The situation right now has Shirin and Rodney in pretty much the same position. I wonder if those two will team up. If they work it they could get Tyler(voted with Rod, original tribemate with Shirin), Will(clear outsider on the no collars - receiving votes to ensure the 3 keeps in tact) to join a breakaway alliance with Rod and Shirin. From there, you'd potentially consider Tyler rekindling what he had with Carolyn early on. This is the kind of play which would benefit both of them, given they both are in iffy spots currently.
That would then leave us with Rod+Shirin+Tyler+Will+Carolyn, a pretty good group. Pretty good indeed. Benefits are Shirin is seen as annoying, no physical threat and knows the game backwards. A good ally to have right now. She should have the know how to work things and hopefully she tries to reconnect with Tyler given how she is pretty much without an ally right now. The same with Tyler. He says that he's got Rodney, who has been abrasive and disrespectful. Shirin, as an over thinker, likes this as she's looking for someone she could beat at an FTC - and they roll. Rodney through East Coast appreciation and Tyler through desperation masked by strategy double team Carolyn. She likes it. She realises that 4 no collars and 4 blue collars (ex. Rodney) can run the game. She rolls with them despite Shirin's part in the alliance. Will is next. Tyler gets to know Will. Tyler milks info and realises that Will's spot in the game can be raised a notch or two by removing Joe asap. He agrees to trying to get Joe. At this point, they realise 5 into 12 doesn't fly. Carolyn could use the idol, but still, 5 -> 11 doesn't fly. Rodney then pretends to be back in with the blue collars with a common enemy (the no collars) this is now a no vs blue collar game. 4 vs 5. Sure, you could get rid of Rod, but why not keep numbers. Mike decides Joe's gotta go. And in doing so, makes his path to winning more difficult.

All signs point to Joe getting voted out next. That's a good result for me, but even if someone from my 6 gets out next, I'll get the valuable first juror slot, which with 2 BFTDs, isn't a bad result either. A strong score this week for me should set me up for a raid on the top 5. I've had just about everyone have their price go up, so things are looking good. I'm happy with Rod as my captain. I could be a top 10 team if I took advantage of her scoring from ep 2 onwards, but I like Rodney as a character more, so I'll stick with him. Now that Jenn has played her idol, Rodney probably will outscore her anyway

So essentially, now I am banking on Rodney's alliance running the game from here. If they do, I'll be in a good spot and will rise up the ranks pretty quickly. With Sierra, Mama C, Tyler and Rodney in my squad. I can't afford Mike and I don't really want him anyway, as I expect Rodney to take this. He was my preseason pick and I'm sticking by him

ugh, I really should've had her as captain due to her idol. rather than the other way around as a backup. I still haven't figured out this vc addition. Had I done that, I would be way higher overall. Anyway, I suppose I should make another BFTD trade at this stage, I'll TRADE OUT Tyler TRADE IN Will. I might rethink the trade closer to the episode

I legitimately have 5 of the final 6. This is the position to be in. Mike should leave next. Really, without an idol and any allies, it's looking like it should be him. Then I can have the entire F5. Would be good.
Also, just realised that S31 DT will be the first all returnee season for DT. It's exciting!!! I kind of faded from this one for most of the post merge due to other commitments, so my nonsensical lengthy updates didn't really show up. But in an all returnee season, I should be back on form
