k, I think I'm ready to rank. I might actually rewatch (a third watch o.O) which would be a first since One World. There will be some edgic-ey stuff in here maybe, but nothing actually spoiled - just my own thoughts and predictions on how the Season is shaping up and what directions I expect it to take.
Obviously the Brains tribe hogged the airtime so far and therefore hog the best spots here. I kinda love the Brawn tribe now that I've seen them? Well, Tony and Sarah at least. And the little Woo & Cliffy bromance is intruiging too. I have no real clue what happens at their first TC which is how I like my tribes. Lindsey v Trish I guess, with Tony on Trish's side and the other four against. But Tony has the idol of course, and is likely to come up with some rando plan of Culpepper proportions. So who fucking knows. I'd like to see them lose to find out - we can do without Lindsey and/or Trish - but I'd hate it to backfire and Tony to go for it.
Worst to best.
BrawnLindseyI don't like Lindsey. we've seen very little of her but enough for me to know I don't like her. Her Trish impression was mildly amusing I guess. She needs to grow up.
TrishImpressed me with her mature approach to her early snub. But kinda threw that away later in the Ep getting caught up with Lindsey in whatever that was. I feel like this tribe's first boot is being crafted into a Lindsey v Trish battle (so long as Tony doesn't
completely implode) which is a-ok by me. Either one is no great loss.
WooI want to like Woo. He seems pretty chill and I'd expect we'd get on well IRL. But other than the fishing thing, which was really more about Cliff, was he even in this episode? I think if not for the sweep & the fantasy game I wouldn't care enough to even notice him. As it is, we need more Woo. Imma predict him to get that weird fifth place irrelevant player edit that the likes of Rick from SP/Carter from Phillipines/Brett from Samoa got. Like, he'll do well enough, but they don't want us to be crushed when he leaves, so they don't give us enough to get invested in him.
Uncle CliffyAnother one I think I'd get on with IRL. Another one we haven't seen enough of. His "I'm a basketball millionaire. Woop, no-one even cares" thing is interesting. Makes you wonder how big a deal Kent's secret/Tonloly cop secret really is. His laugh is brilliant too <3 But yeah, not gotten enough airtime to root for him.
SarahI'll agree with everyone else ever and conclude she is the most likely winner by the edit. Ew if that's true and she's so obvious in just one Episode. But she is great in all ways excluding that weird fishhook mouth/nasally voice combo thing she has going. A little snarky but not overbearingly so. An actual natural that leads without letting it go to her head or buckling under the pressure. So far so good. Also, fantasy team bargain, I fucking knew she'd be worth it. Probs the only player I got right tbh
TonyThis guy is such a mess. I love it
A-fucking-lol in anticipation of how cray-cray he's going to get once they actually have to go to a TC. What the actual fuck at #spyshack and how is that even necessary or any different from just standing the other side of those leaves? And he has an idol now
I couldn't think of a better person to have it except for maybe @ornithomax in Marvellous
Heisnotacopheisnotacop - Hey, you wanna know the truth? - noImnotacop.
He is running at warp speed and can't possibly go the distance. I luv.
I like the Beauty tribe the least. They are just uninteresting so far for all the Morgan drama. And a her-Brice-Jeremiah group slipping into control is painful to think ahead to. Brice is amusing enough, and Morgan exceeds my pre-Season expectations, but neither grips me. I think those three are getting the same kind of edit as Abi/Pete/Artis had. Jeremiah maybe a little less so, or at least, he's
not being shown as as villainous as the other two and more of just misguidedly loyal or something? All of LJ, Alexis & Jeremiah are quiet so far where I expected some interest. And Jefra bland is aptly named.
BeautyJeremiahApart from lolling at his hurdy-gurr waana thrust me babee? accent he has given nothing entertainment wise. And the accent gets old fast.
Jefra BlandI am calling her as next boot. Her peein' & poopin' line was her sole contribution I think? Which might mean she is being shown as a "real" girl and not just some ditzy looker the way Alexis is being depicted. So maybe she sticks around. Or maybe it was just a "hey, don't forget this girl exists" clip. I kinda feel her only role is to be a foil to show how evil that trio are/become.
AlexisCute as a button. Not much else to say here. I do want her to stick around. NGL, pretty much for eye candy reasons. :shrug
LJWhat we saw in the Leader segment shows promise. What we saw in the boots & boxers segment less so. Has potential I guess, but needs to keep his pants on
Predict he outlasts Jefra & Alexis for brawn's sake. Will that be enough to go any further? idk. That's pantless scene where he dropped the coconut (while chopping it
in his hand idiota) undid any of the credit built up as the quite slick leader. Maybe he's first to go or has some stupid decision incoming. e.g. He teams up with that trio to boot one of the girls, thinking he's in control, and then follows her out the door a week later as Morgan enacts her revenge for that grudge.
BriceI don't
like Brice or Alexis. I am
interested in both though. Brice's snark is as expected and I did laugh aloud at one or two lines (the ultimate wingman facilitator lul). His ability to play the Survival side is less expected. I am totally guilty of expecting him to be the fourth girl too
I expected another Colton I guess, but he's more of a Coby.
MorganWow, Morgan came out swinging and is totally not what I expected and way more proactive with her fate. I'm still not a fan, but I do look forward to her arc. She is not winning lol. She is weirdly both clever and kinda dumb at the same time? I don't even know how to put it, but like, the supplies lie was quick thinking, but getting caught in the situation where she needed to was not. Reeling in Jeremiah was brill, but it seemed so awkward and fake to me at the same time.
Brains tribe obviously ate up the airtime with the two boots and we know them the best. And what a delicious trainwreck of a tribe they are. I would not have predicted either boot, either far in advance or even mid-episode. I guess David's was a little obvious once it was clear Garrett & Tasha weren't booting J'Tia. I am not the J'Tia fan that a shitload of people seem to be. More credit to Kass and especially Tasha for her Survival.
BrainsJ'TiaWhat a fucking child. Her one redeeming thing is that line about "Hmmm, let's review your files." Apart from that, she can't leave soon enough. I actively
dislike her and I would boot her ass so fast if I was in.
DavidOverplaying idiot. He was my Fantasy Captain too :/ I was expecting him & Kass & one more to become the majority here, and that was this close to happening too. Except he pissed Garrett off. And kinda Spencer. Also J'Tia. And Tasha a little bit too. Um, even Kass somewhat? He supposed to be either really good, or at least such a bad player it would be funny (see: Tony). NGL, I kinda expected a little bit of Steve Carrell in the Office mode here. Instead he was just cringe-worthingly bad. God I would hate to work for him.
SpencerHe is way less hatable or vile than I expected him to be. There is time yet though
That doesn't mean I've done the 180 on him a lot of people have, I just.. don't hate him. So far he's been a bit meh for the most part, and a bit of a follower. I expect his game will pick up now he feels on the bottom.
GarrettWhat a glorious two-episode trainwreck of an arc. He had a whole Season of Survivor crammed into an hour and a half. I am glad he left though, both his face and his fans annoyed me
He delivered in spades though. How much of Brains' fuck-upperey was his fault? Maybe even everything. Both potential boots, both blindsides, screwing up the first challenge and beng the driving force of the lead in the second. At least my pre-Season is he great or just a great pretender was answered quickly.
LatashaWow. I shouldn't have written her off pre-Season. So many players let opportunities slip through their fingers but she very quickly sized up her position and turned things around. One or two players like this and Boston Rob wouldn't ever have steamrolled that Season. She is top dog now for sure. Very quiet in the first half mind which lets her down a little. The only player to vote correctly both times except for that mess J'Tia.
KassI love Kass. So much for her UTR game though. And wtf at telling J'Tia she'd the likely boot? That is probably what sealed David's fate tbh. I see her as a potential winner after Sarah though. Very interested to see what happens on this tribe next. plsbootJTia
