"Visibility" instead of confessionals. Takes into account the numbers provided by the VF watchdog in Edgic at Survivor Sucks. This takes into account sentences spoken as well as confessionals.
This may provide a better view into a contestant's screen-time. Say "A" and "B" have a fight after an immunity challenge, but "C" has a confessional explaining that the dysfunction hurts their tribe.
Under current scoring, "C" gets 5 points because they're commenting on the meaning of the scene; despite "A" and "B" being the focus of the argument. Using "Visibility", we may have a situation where "C" gets 5 points (as per the scoring given with VF rating), but "A" gets 11 points and "B" 13 for their dialogue.
Using Sucks' VF rating also takes into account TC questions, but these points can be easily removed.

I'm not sure how tangible that is, so I'd prefer not to go with something like that. I would think most people who get screen time give a confessional anyway. I don't want to go too crazy on analysing every little thing, because I basically score as a I watch the episode and I don't have the time to do multiple viewings. And I'd prefer not to rely on someone else's rating system as well. But thanks for the idea.

I would like to extra points if someone gets to final 5 and uses their HII there by default, like they aren't going to get votes specifically because they have the idol(like Malcolm in the Phillipines).

So a reward for hanging onto the idol? Could be workable.
Perhaps accumaltive points from when it is found until it is played? So, they find it in Episode 6, every episode they go to tribal and don't play it, they get points. Maybe 10 per episode... maybe more...?

That's a lot of points for not doing anything. I think there's already too big an advantage for the tribe that loses compared to the winners.

I guess there's also the risk of being voted out in a losing tribe, which may somewhat mitigate the advantage. The spirit of the game is to focus on things being done in playing the overall game... winning tribes don't get a huge focus anyway so I'm not too fussed about that part of it.

You should award bonus points for anyone whose name rhymes with honesty

I was thinking more of a special amount if points just for playing the idol but not actually needing to on the last TC you can play it on. Something like 30 points, because they didn't play the idol incorrectly, they just played it because its the last time they could.

Ah ok. AFAIK, the idol(s) are playable after the votes this season (harking back to season 12/13)... which may make this redundant. :/
I'll have a noodle about this and maybe make some caveats as I'm not exactly sure how the idols are working this season.

I'm almost certain that Jeff explained the idols as follows in the TVGN preview - there will be three regular hidden immunity idols pre-merge (one for each tribe) and then one additional one hidden after the merge that can be played after the votes are read.

Potential game format spoiler if people don't want to know: (from the TVGN preview) Apparently in the first episode each tribe will elect a leader and a "weakest" member, and the weakest member gets choppered to camp and gets to choose between a clue to the hidden immunity idol and a bag of rice, maybe there could be a point allocation for those respectively? Ie +50 for being leader, -50 for being weakest, +25 for picking rice?

Oh, so the voters get extra points, not the idol player. In that case I suggest their "right vote" be doubled? Any others want to comment on this? I'll update it as a tentative rule but I like it. Not sure about this, as this implies the voters in minority are in the know about the idol play. Often times, the person playing the idol does it in their own time/decision, without consulting anyone (eg. Tyson last season). So were it not for that ONE person's idol play, the minority voters are actually naive to the fact they are not in majority and/or that their votes are the minority. However, this is more context dependent though a some minorities know they are involved in an idol play, others have no idea - so i dont like it as a blanket rule. Does this make sense?
