Despite my misgivings coming in to this season once I saw Probst the excitement was there again.  I'm converted Bobby Boucher  I liked the first episode. I found it refreshing that an even focus was given to all the contestants and their stories, especially the loved ones instead of focusing on one or two big personalities. I think Laura from Samoa got more screen time in this one episode than the whole of the one person show in Samoa  I was happy with the first two sent to Redemption, especially the multiple returnees in Rupert and Candice. The consequences of Gervases challenge bragging is going to set an interesting tone as far as loved ones is concerned. I can now see revenge playing a part in tribal councils now which hasn't really been explored before, as is people looking to break apart natural pairings at the merge. I was hoping the vote wouldn't stay along gender lines as that makes a uneventful few votes ahead and I wish it wasn't Marissa that went as she looked to have a bit of pluck about her. The only things I really didn't like was Jeff calling Brad "Culpepper" the whole game and him referring to a 3 way battle as a duel (2 people only in a duel) - but it was a pretty good start to the season and I'm looking forward to the next episode. |
