The Ghost is busy fighting crime so he has enlisted his most loyal minions, resident 3rd placer Roxy and myself to run the Premiership this season. We won't know the specifics until we get the final list of teams, but the basics remain the same as previous versions. You will be split into groups based on last season's rankings, with new players randomly allocated. You'll go up against a different team in your group each week before the top teams in each group advance to a finals series in the last few episodes until the Grand Final in the season finale. Head to head matches may or may not begin with episode 1, depending on final numbers. We'll get the groups sorted and posted as soon as we can; in the meantime, use this thread for any questions or general discussion about the premiership

TMM and RoxyHere are the 27 teams with valid tribes. There is Snoopz as well, but there's no tribe selected so not sure what we're gonna do there. So how does this work this year? How many teams qualify per group? I've been meaning to post about this! The finale is generally in the middle of December, which means we should have 13 weeks altogether, leaving a 4-week finals series. Based on each team's win-loss record, I'll rank all division winners from 1-3, all 2nd placers 4-6, and the top two 3rd placers 7 & 8, then use the finals system the AFL and NRL use (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_finals_system). Basically, the top 4 play off against each other with the winners going straight to week 3 and the losers to week 2, while 5th-8th play to avoid elimination. After that it is straight knock-out until we have a winner. So top 2 in each group progress, along with the two 3rd placers with the best records. |

Just something that's bugging me here, but shouldn't the teams that are 0-3 be below the teams that are 0-2? It doesn't matter that they haven't won anything, the 0-3 teams have lost more matches, and would be lower on the rankings. It'd work the same way in reverse. A team that's 3-0 would be above a team that's 2-0 simply because they'd won more matches.

The points system is being used, hence wins equal 2 points and any draws receive 1 point. Then the scoring % is being used (points for divided by points against) to determine positioning of those on equal points.
Therefore, strict wins/loses are not being used to determine positions. That would result in a match ratio system or games behind system (which US sport uses, yes?).
It's just an Australian sports system that's used to determine ladder positions.
