In: Baylor Out: Wes
I'm assuming this doesn't use up a trade (since it's before episode 1 lockout). If it does, then I don't want to make the change.

Yep, all good. No trades are used until after Episode 1.

The Ghost I've just got a quick question: why is Drew more expensive than people like Missy and Baylor who scored more points than him? Am I missing something in the way prices are determined? Btw I'm sorry about arguing in the episode thread last night. I had a fever and so was a little grumpy.

Drew was priced higher initially so how they score in the episode determines how they deviate from their original price. As Baylor and Missy scored about the median, they rose in price because they started with a lower price. Drew stayed the same price because his score was middle ground so not enough to drop but also not enough to increase. Had he scored lower he would have dropped (like Julie dropped from 4 to 3 because she scored 5 points less than that middle score).
Unfortunately, I don't have some sort of complicated algorithm to determine the fluctuations. It's done based on feel and I've done pretty well with it for the first two games. This season, at about episode 3, I do plan to use score averages to determine price fluctuations. Just need a couple of episodes of data to be able to apply it.

Ok I see, thanks I plan to trade Rocker for Drew either next week or the week after, so the lower Drew's price the better

Hey The Ghost, if I make a trade in here, is it locked in immediately? Or can I reverse it before lockout?

You can reverse it before lockout.

In: Jeremy - 5 Out: John Rocker - 7
Captain: Jeremy
I'm going to reconsider this trade Thurs morning, but I'll lock it in for now (just in case I don't get around to it.)
I think keeping John Rocker is too risky atm. There's a small possibility he could quit after being taunted by the blue tribe at the IC (in which case I'll lose 100 points) or be blinded with the idol (in which case I'll lose 50 points).
Also, while it seems that the focus will be on Rocker next episode, Jeremy should perform well too. He's likely to receive confessionals about his wife being voted off, his finding (or at least searching for) the idol, turning everyone against Rocker, etc. He also has long-term potential - something that Rocker doesn't have imo
I was planning to trade out Rocker soon anyway. May as well do it now while Jeremy's price is reasonable.

So glad I traded out Rocker! I knew it would've been a better move to trade Rocker out for Josh instead of Jeremy. But I just don't like Josh and so didn't want him in my team. If I had traded for Josh, I could've then traded Josh for Jeremy. I would've then had more points and $4 in the bank (although one less trade). Oh well I'm just glad I'm #1 atm

The Ghost just a question about pricing: Shouldn't each player's score be compared to the average score of all players? Otherwise aren't you punishing a good player when he doesn't meet his amazing average? Like Natalie is the same price as Jeremy and her average is only 22.7 whereas Jeremy's is 39.3 (Sorry if I'm misunderstanding how this works)

I'm basically implementing a pricing system that is used in AFL Dream Team (although, much more basic), where I will take a rolling average. So the past 2 episodes, I will take the player's average and then what they score in the third episode will determine how they fluctuate. Eg. Jeremy's scores of 61 and 26 to meet an average of 43.5, and only scored 31, so his price goes down. Next week, he'll need to meet a 28.5 average (26+31). Natalie scored 16 and 21 for an average of 18.5, and then scored 31, so she goes up. Next week, she's got to meet 26. So yes, in effect, a good player needs to keep up their average. I'm basically going on if they are 10 points either way of their average, they will rise or fall (I was actually a bit lenient with Rocker, as he probably should have dropped to 1 Cordoba ). It should also help stop a player's price skyrocketing, which has happened and they become complete unattainable. We'll see how it goes this season. I'm confident the prices should be pretty reflective of how I've done it previously (which was based on feel). I would have probably increased Natalie by 1 and kept Jeremy at 5, so it's not too far off.

Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me I reckon you should use a combined approach - one based on averages & feel. So use the averages pricing system to guide your decision making, but don't let it restrict you. Just go with the prices you think are best. I would've preferred to see Jeremy stay at 5, but maybe I'm biased because I have him in my team. I'm glad you were a bit lenient with Rocker - those with Rocker in their team have suffered enough haha.

I'll see how it goes. The feel of Jeremy maintaining didn't outweight the raw data of the drop, whereas the feel of Rocker dropping to 1 did, so I guess I am kind of using a combined approach.

After watching the CBS previews, I'm a little worried Jeremy could be blindsided this week (perhaps with an idol) :/ But I think I'll keep him in my team. He's had such a good edit so far and it would be a surprise to see him go so early.
